Short summary
Siting decisions regarding a repository for high-level radioactive waste have an extraordinary intergenerational significance. Under German law the constitutional status of future generations is increasingly recognised forcing state actors to include future interests in their decisions. The presentation examines whether the public participation procedure established by the German Site Selection Act (Standortauswahlgesetz) allows for an effective representation of future generations' interests.
