Short summary
A mobile platform has been converted into a robotic system to place tools for the automatic decontamination and direct measurement of walls in nuclear power plants. This paper describes the required drive sizing, sensor integration, controller integration, and safety technology applied to the mobile platform to ensure that it is able to operate and place the tools in the correct positions without endangering humans in its vicinity.
