Short summary
Since the disposal of radioactive waste in deep boreholes seems to be a promising solution for small waste volumes, Norway investigates, together with international partners, like BGE TECHNOLOGY GmbH, the possibility of deep borehole disposal. For this reason a tailored deep borehole concept was developed and a generic safety assessment was carried out on a conceptual level. This initial work showed that this could be a possible solution which, however, needs further research and development.
