Short summary
The recognition of the importance of managing safety led to the development of safety requirements that are now implemented by the International Atomic Energy Agency's member states. These include the need to develop training and education for managers with nuclear safety responsibilities, to develop a science-based training programme for future decommissioning project managers and to extend the impact of the project through on-site training for operators involved in these projects.
