Short summary
Further investigations of the reorientation behaviour of hydride precipitates in cladding tubes from zircaloy-2 under interim storage conditions have been carried out. The results show that, even below tolerated temperature and stress states, reorientation occurs when the hydrogen contents are low. The hydrides in some cases extended through a wall in the experiments. This shows the need for further investigation regarding alloys that take up small hydrogen amounts.
